Land acknowledgement
YMCA of Northern Alberta acknowledges that we are on the traditional territory of the Cree (including Upstream People, Woods), Blackfoot, Métis, Nakoda, Tsuu T'ina, Dene, and Dane-zaa (Beaver) peoples. Treaties 6, 7 and 8 territories continue to be an important gathering place for many First Nation peoples. We also recognize their contributions to building healthy communities and thank them for their stewardship of the land. YMCAs in Canada are committed to fostering a sense of belonging for all, a value reflected in our Statement of Reconciliation.
