Our Programs

Children's Programs (6–12 years)

Kids in the Kitchen offers children between 612 years the opportunity to explore their cooking skills in a safe environment. Offered at our kitchens at Northside Community Centre YMCA in Red Deer and Boyle Street Plaza in Edmonton, participants learn about kitchen safety, prepare delicious recipes and even get to bring their creations home, if they don't eat them before then!

Adult Programs (18+ years)

Looking to learn new kitchen skills or discover new recipes? We offer in-person cooking workshops where a YMCA instructor will lead you through recipes and you will leave with simple and economic recipes that can be made at home.

Specialty Kitchens & Workshops (Edmonton only)

Join us for our exciting and varied series of Specialty Kitchens including Weeknight Meals, Taste of Portugal, Winter Warm-Up and many more!

Each course features helpful instructions, expert tips and tricks and the opportunity to put your new skills into practice. As an added benefit, you get to taste and take home a sample of what you create.

Registration is open to those 16 years or older and classes are offered at the Boyle Street Plaza. For more information, or to register for a class, call (780) 4269265 or email our team at collectivekitchen@ymcanab.ca.

This class is recommended for persons with higher needs and/or require additional support in the kitchen. One support person per registered person is welcomed, but not required.
