Thank you joining the YMCA! We’re so glad you’ve joined us, and hope you feel welcome. At the Y, you’ll find much more than an amazing gym and pool experience; you’ll find a community where everyone can connect and belong, and a charity igniting the potential in people in so many ways.

What can you do with your Y membership?
Your Y membership gets you access to a variety of in-person and online group fitness, swimming pools, fitness centre (free weights and cardio machines), indoor track, racquet courts, gymnasium and more.
These are all included in your membership!
YMCA Enhanced members get significant discounts and priority registrations on registered programs, and swimming lessons are included in membership at no additional cost!
Planning your first visit
Plan to spend a few extra minutes getting your membership card from our YMCA Experience Desk on your first visit. You’ll be issued a membership card and key tag for each member on your account and we will verify your payment method.
You’ll scan your membership card at every visit to access the YMCA. The larger membership card can also be used to lock the lockers in our general locker rooms. There are instructions inside the lockers, but you can also ask any staff or volunteer if you need help.
Please note that those over 18 years of age will be asked to show government-issued photo ID on their first visit.
When you come in, please ask about our Fitness Centre Orientations! Our friendly and knowledgeable staff would love to show you around the fitness centre, answer any questions you may have and give you tips on exercises that will help you achieve your goals.
Please note availability for Fitness Centre Orientations can vary based on staffing.
What you bring depends on how you plan to use the Y!
Bring swimsuits and towels if swimming or any attire you need to work out if you’re taking in a class or using the Fitness Centre. Please wear closed-toed, closed heel shoes with non-marking soles.
Clean pool shoes for swimmers and spectators are encouraged.
If you’re using the racquet courts or playing badminton or pickleball, we can lend you the equipment you need — but you’re welcome to bring your own. Similarly, we have what you need to play basketball or other gym sports.
If you’re planning on using the showers, bring shampoo and conditioner. We provide body wash.
If you have a Plus membership, towel service is complimentary. Our Plus locker rooms also feature a variety of comfort items, including razors, shave gel, lotion, hair tools and more. In the Plus locker rooms, you’ll also find a private hot tub and steam room as well as both day use and overnight assigned lockers, subject to availability. Check in with the YMCA Experience team if you have a Plus membership and haven’t been contacted about an assigned locker within 48 hours of joining.
Note: Plus locker rooms are restricted to members aged 18 and older on weekdays. Members under 18 may access the Plus locker rooms on weekends and statutory holidays when supervised by an adult Plus member. For safety, children under 14 must be supervised within arm’s reach when using the hot tub or steam room.
